Jay Wu
Jay Wu (Chinese name: Wu Jiawei) is a Chengdu-based naturalist and wildlife guide with an excellent command of English and many years of experience leading groups through some of China’s finest wildlife habitats.
Jay has a strong academic background, having published over 20 papers, contributed to the formal description of 12 new species of amphibians, reptiles and invertebrates, and written for various Sichuan and China nature publications. He has also directed wildlife films and held positions within Sichuan organisations focused on birds, mammals and conservation.
Away from his academic work, Jay is an enthusiastic birder, mammal-watcher and wildlife photographer, and he brings a genuine passion for China’s remarkable biodiversity to everything he does in the field. He very much looks forward to sharing it with Limosa’s visiting naturalists.
