Peninsula Malaysia Trip Report

Led by local expert Lee Kok Chung, Limosa’s annual tour to Peninsula Malaysia is always extremely popular with an impressive range of species being seen. 2025 was no exception with highlights including Ferruginous Partridge, Malayan Partridge, Mountain Peacock-pheasant, Gould’s Frogmouth, Greater Painted-snipe, Dusky Eagle-Owl, Diard’s, Scarlet-rumped, Orange-breasted and Red-headed Trogons, eight species of hornbills including Great, Helmeted, Bushy-crested and Wrinkled, Rufous-backed Pygmy-Kingfisher, Great Slaty Woodpecker, Silver-breasted, Black-and-red, Banded, Black-and-yellow and Green Broadbills, Malayan Banded, Blue-winged, Mangrove and Western Hooded Pittas, Black-and-crimson Oriole, Blyth’s Paradise Flycatcher, Rail-babbler, Malayan Laughingthrush, Blue Nuthatch and Malayan Whistling Thrush.
