Manuela Zapata
Manuela is truly passionate about nature and everything it encompasses. Since childhood, she has felt a deep connection with the forest and the animals that inhabit it. A journalism graduate from the University of Manizales and a certified professional tourist guide, Manuela chose to merge her two areas of expertise to support conservation efforts through birdwatching.
In her work as a local birding guide, she has not only developed a solid knowledge of bird species—from the páramo to the subtropical regions—but has also collaborated closely with local communities, encouraging their involvement in ecological projects and promoting social inclusion.
After dedicating significant time to these initiatives and becoming deeply convinced that birdwatching is a powerful tool for conservation, Manuela is now focused on sharing Colombia’s rich biodiversity with the world. She strives to do so through the eyes of those who, like her, are passionate about birds and eager to explore the wonders of her country.
