Andy Foster

Andy Foster is a British bird guide who first moved to Brazil in 1998 and over the subsequent 20+ years has led over 200 tours in the southeast of the country. Andy is now considered to be an expert on the avifauna of this region and we are delighted to have him as part of the Limosa team of guides.

As well as guiding, Andy was responsible for establishing a local wetland reserve and conservation NGO based in the State of Rio de Janeiro and for a number of years ran the Serra dos Tucanos lodge.

He is a keen bird photographer and has photographed many of the rare and endemic species to be found in this region.

Andy lives with his wife and daughter in Nova Friburgo in south-east Brazil.
