Wich’yanan Limparungpatthanakij ("Jay")

Wich'yanan lives in Thailand and has been a wildlife enthusiast for as long as he can remember. He acquired the nickname "Jay" after the Blue Jay in the US when he was a foreign exchange student for a high school year.

Jay has spent well over 10 years guiding visiting birders all over Thailand. His interest in birds also motivated him to pursue a Master's degree in biological science, studying behavioural ecology of mixed-species flocks.

Apart from guiding, he has been involved in a number of research projects, as well as authoring articles and books on birds and wildlife conservation including being co-author on the recently published "Birds of Thailand" produced by Lynx.

Jay is also currently a member of the Thai Bird Records Committee.
