George Armistead
George Armistead lives in Philadelphia and has been a birder since he was nine years old. He has been leading field trips since his teenage years and has been guiding tours professionally since 2002 developing and guiding tours to dozens of countries across all seven continents.
George has authored two books on birds: Better Birding: Tips, Tools, and Concepts for the Field and The ABA Field Guide to the Birds of Pennsylvania. He received a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, and is an associate at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia, where he spent seven years helping to curate the photographic and specimen collections.
