Gábor Simay

Gábor has been interested in birds and nature conservation since his first years in primary school and during his studies at the University of Debrecen, he carried out research on the ground-nesting birds of the Hortobágy National Park in Eastern Hungary.

He has been working as a professional guide since 2005 but has also been a warden at the Hortobágy National Park since 2008 with a focus on the Bihar Plain section of the park, although he regularly visits other parts of Hungary and the Carpathian Basin (in Romania) to watch and study birds.

Gábor speaks perfect English, is currently the secretary of the Hungarian Rarities Committee and also a keen wildlife photographer. Living with his family at Földes, a short distance to the south of the Hortobágy National Park, he is the perfect choice for leading Limosa's tours to this region.
