A message from Chris & Barbara

LIMOSA HOLIDAYS: A NEW DAWN...

Barbara and I launched Limosa Holidays in 1985 and our first trip carried just two people, on a weekend break based at our home in Norfolk. One was a keen birdwatcher, the other was not; our guests arrived much earlier than we'd been expecting and the power went off over dinner. It was hardly the most auspicious of starts! But Limosa was off and running - and we never looked back.

From our early tours around Norfolk, we soon spread our wings to include trips throughout the UK. Overseas tours to Austria, Morocco, Turkey and India quickly followed, giving rise to an adventure in birding and wildlife travel that was ultimately to span the globe.

Fast forward 35 years from those humble beginnings, to March 2020, and no one could have predicted the enormous impact that covid-19 would have on all our lives. Now in our mid-60s, and with retirement beckoning, reluctantly, we felt that the time was right for us to bow out and hand over the reins to new (and younger!) owners with the necessary passion, energy and commitment required to drive Limosa forward into a new and exciting era.

Having been such a massive part of our lives for so long, we are of course thrilled that Limosa Holidays will continue. In passing our business on to Chris Collins, we have not only found a kindred spirit with 20 years experience setting up and leading birding and wildlife tours, but someone who shares our long-held values and commitment to professionalism and customer service.

So it's a fond farewell from us... but not without saying a huge and heartfelt final thank you to everyone we have had the pleasure of travelling and working with these past 35 years.

As the world of tourism starts to get back upon its feet once again, we very much hope that you will continue your unfailing support for Limosa. We wish Chris Collins and his staff, our established team of hard-working and fun-loving leaders and of course you, our loyal customers old and new, all the very best for the future - and many more years of travelling the world with Limosa!
