Hungary: Winter Geese, Wallcreeper and Woodpeckers Trip Report
Limosa's new early winter trip to Hungary proved to be a considerable success with the group have a fantastic time exploring the country’s celebrated Hortobágy National Park and a number of other sites within this wildlife-rich country.
As well as finding the beautiful Red-breasted Goose and endangered Lesser White-fronted at Hortobágy, Greater Spotted and Eastern Imperial Eagles, Saker Falcon, Great Bustard and thousands of Common Cranes were all seen there before a fantastic encounter with the 'must see' Wallcreeper. Seven species of woodpeckers were also found including Black, Syrian and Middle-spotted and there were great views of Eagle, Ural and Long-eared Owl.
The trip report is now online and can be downloaded by clicking here. Details of our 2025 holiday are currently being finalised and should be online in the next couple of weeks, however, please contact the office if you wish to register your interest in joining this special tour in 2025.
