Coronavirus - our approach

Coronavirus has had a huge impact on all our lives. Please click here to read more.

To all our valued Limosa clients and friends

We hope that you are all in good health and continuing to keep safe and well.

Please do take a few moments to read this latest message (updated 21 September 2021), which sets out our position with regard to coronavirus.

Since taking over ownership of Limosa from Chris and Barbara Kightley, we have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that we continue to offer you the same exceptional holidays that Limosa has offered for so many years.

The majority of the guides who worked with Chris and Barbara are continuing with the new management team and we are delights that several new 'faces' will also be joining us. Watch out for updates on this in the coming months in the 'latest news' feature on our website.

Many of the 'old favourites' tours will be continuing to be available and we are also looking to add exciting new holidays to destinations such a New Zealand, Indonesia and Colombia over the next couple of years. Please make sure you subscribe to our e-newsletter to ensure you are first to hear about what we will be offering.

The big uncertainty at this point, however, is coronavirus and our approach is going to be to wait a little longer before we take firm bookings for any trips. The last year and a half have had a terrrible effect on billions of people and have, of course, brought international holiday travel to a virtual standstill.

Whilst some wildlife tour companies have continued to take depositis for trips since the start of the pandemic (which they have then frequently been forced to cancel), our 'honest and open' approach will be different and we will continue to wait until we are more confident that travel can truly restart.

If any of our trips, therefore, appeal to you, you are welcome to contact us to express your interest in any of the holidays and we will then be in touch when we are more confident the trip can go ahead. At this point, we are not asking for any deposits so the risk to you is zero.

At the time of writing, we have no expectation of offering any trips in 2021 but are genuinely hopeful that a good percentage of our 2022 programme will be able to go ahead.

Whatever the coming weeks or months may hold for travel, please be assured that the health and well-being of our guests is always our top priority. We will not operate a tour if it isn't safe to do so and we will always follow the UK Government's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Travel Advice.

Birding brings joy to all our lives. Let's all hope it won't be too long before we can all get back to sharing more wonderful Limosa birding and travel experiences together.

Stay safe and keep well - and we look forward both to renewing those long-standing friendships again soon, as well as to welcoming our first-time travellers.

With our very best wishes
Chris (Collins) and all the Limosa team
