Bringing Limosa’s 2017 BirdWalk programme to a close was a visit to yet another new destination, a picturesque walk from Morston Quay to Stiffkey Fen. This walk was recently described as one of the 12 best walks in Britain and though the cloudy skies and northerly wind did their best to temper our enthusiasm they did not! We had a fabulous walk following the Norfolk Coast Path west from the quay, along the border between the saltmarsh and attractive arable land. We found some fabulous birds: some expected, like many Brent Geese, Little Egrets, Curlews and Redshanks, etc.; some hoped for, such as Peregrine, Merlin and, perhaps best of all, a superb male Hen Harrier.
