BIRDWALK #95 - KELLING HEATH & QUAG

26/06/17

What can be better than a stroll on a lovely summer’s day on a north Norfolk heath, looking for birds and butterflies in one of the most picturesque spots in East Anglia? Not much as far as the group was concerned and we had super views of wheezing Yellowhammers, Hobby and some fresh Silver-studded Blues. A Dartford Warbler showed briefly, a Nightjar churred during the day, Avocets fed on pools and a couple of Red-veined Darters showed on the trails. Continuing the sunny theme for 2017 Birdwalks, today at Kelling we enjoyed warm temperatures, but a brisk westerly wind kept us a little cooler…
