Our 2017 Birdwalks continue to be blessed by brilliant weather and this morning was the best day of them all. Barely a cloud in the sky, the warm sun enticed the early birds to sing, though many were in fact busy attending youngsters. We concentrated on the special heath species and had cracking views of Woodlarks, Dartford Warblers and Stonechats – a lot of the time with several birds singing or chasing each other about! Fine male Yellowhammers were out shone by the views of purring Turtle Doves and the virtuoso song of several Nightingales - these were the undoubted highlights, but much more was seen…
