Unless otherwise stated or requested, our tour prices include the cost of Economy Class seats on scheduled return flights, usually from London. Occasionally, we use charter flights or ‘no-frills’ airlines, but usually only where these offer the best or only service to that destination.

Most airlines now issue ‘e-tickets’, in electronic form, rather than the old-fashioned paper tickets. The advantage of these is that they should be impossible to lose! We will provide you with a copy of the e-ticket receipt and give full instructions and information about e-tickets, if this is the case.

Please be aware that an increasing number of airlines, particularly on short-haul flights, are now excluding the cost of on-board meals and drinks from their ticket price, which therefore have to be excluded from the cost of our tour. Please assume that in-flight meals are always excluded from the cost of a tour. Where available, information on in-flight meals will be sent with your tickets.

Note that some of our leaders may be based in the destination countries, or may have travelled out there in advance of the group, so they may not always accompany the group on the flights.

Interim Flight Deposits

Many airlines now demand full, non-refundable payment of the airfare before they will confirm the booking. Sometimes we need to secure flights several months in advance of the tour departure date, before full payment of the balance is due from you. In these cases we may need to ask you to pay a non-refundable interim deposit, in addition to the tour deposit, in order to secure your flight booking.

'Land Only' Prices

For participants joining a tour from outside the UK, or otherwise preferring to join at the tour destination, we are happy to quote a ‘land only’ price (available for most tours) upon request. We can often assist with alternative flight arrangements to suit particular needs, but please note that these can work out more expensive than the group-based fare. If you wish to book a tour as ‘land only’, please make this clear on your booking form at time of booking.

IMPORTANT! (i)Note that flight tickets normally need to be paid for upon booking, and that these are often non-refundable. Therefore, if you are booking your own flights for a tour you must contact us first for written confirmation of the exact details of the tour that your flights must comply with. (ii) If you do choose to book your own flights please remember to satisfy yourself regarding the suitability of ticket cancellation and amendment terms should unexpected changes or enforced cancellation of the tour be necessary due to events beyond our control.

Additional Flights & Other Arrangements

For some destinations we are able to quote for flights from a UK regional airport (rather than London). We charge a nominal £35 per person booking fee for booking separate or additional flights to the main group flights, to cover our administrative costs and charges. If you wish to book a tour with a connecting flight from a regional airport, please make this clear on your booking form.

For participants who prefer to fly out before the main tour and/or return afterwards, we are also happy to quote for flights, hotels and other arrangements independent of the group. Again, we charge a nominal £35 per person booking fee to help cover our administrative costs.
