Booking

When to book?

We're often asked this - and the short answer is as early as possible! Our tours are limited to small group sizes and so popular destinations can fill up very quickly - sometimes even before our brochure comes out. We often receive bookings over a year ahead for tours and, as a rough guide, many tours fill around four to six months in advance.

Single rooms are usually the first to go, so please do try to book early if you require one of these. Having said this, we invariably get a few late cancellations so it's always worth enquiring about vacancies on any tour - even those departing in a few weeks time.

Early bookings help both you and us in many ways. Not only are you sure of your place on a trip, but we can secure accommodation and flights much more easily well in advance. This is especially true for long-haul destinations. So as an added incentive, we are pleased to offer an Early Booking Discount. Click the Discounts and Benefits button to find out more!

How to Book

Booking is easy!

Step 1

Read the detailed description of the tour you are interested in, together with the Essential Information and Booking Conditions.

If you need further details, ask us to send you a Tour Info Pack for your chosen trip. To request a Tour Info Pack, simply click the Tour Info Pack button that appears alongside every tour. See also the About Limosa section of this website.

Step 2

You can Book Online via our secure site. Click here to access our Online Booking Form. Or click the Book This Tour button that appears alongside every tour.

If you prefer to Book Offline, you can download and print a PDF Booking Form for completion offline and mail it off to us to reserve your place.

If you have a copy of our latest brochure or a Tour Info Pack, you'll find a loose-leaf Booking Form enclosed therein. Bookings can also be made by telephone, fax or email. Simply complete and mail your Booking Form off to us, together with the appropriate booking deposit, to arrive at our office within 14 days to confirm your place on the tour. (We can hold provisional reservations for up to 14 days, after which time any unconfirmed space will be released.)

IMPORTANT: for security, please do NOT email your credit card and other personal details to us. These can be given to us on the booking form or if you are booking online entered on our secure website booking form (all personal and payment details are stored in a password protected database, protected with GeoTrust 128 bit High-grade Encryption).

When You Book

Upon receipt of your Booking Form and deposit we will confirm your booking on the tour, sending you:

  • Written Confirmation of your place on the tour
  • Our ATOL Confirmation Invoice (where appropriate)
  • Reading List
  • Travel Information (answers to questions on climate, clothing, passports, visas, health precautions, what to take and other pertinent details to help you prepare for your trip)
  • Copy of a previous Trip Report (where available)
  • Personal update for your Limosa Frequent Travel Discount


About 12-16 weeks prior to departure, participants will receive:

  • Checklist of Birds for the tour
  • Map
  • Limosa Pen
  • Details of Airport Hotel & Parking discounts
  • Final Invoice


About 2-4 weeks prior to departure, we will send you:

  • Final Letter - confirming joining instructions, flights, hotels, list of participants together with any tour updates and other information
  • Flight tickets (as appropriate)
  • Luggage Labels
  • Copy of the latest UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office Travel Advice

After the Tour

Sometime after your holiday is over (usually within about a month or so), participants will receive a copy of the leaders' Trip Report as a lasting souvenir of your holiday with us.
